Tento raid řadič patří mezi kvalitní a výkonné SAS/SATA řadiče pevných disků s 512 MB paměti DDR2, 1.2 GHz dvoujádrovým ROC (RAID on Chip). Tento 8portový řadič, skládající se z 4 interních a 4 externích portů, plně podporuje disková pole RAID a je určen pro rozhraní PCI-Express x8.
Nabízí rozšířenou ochranu dat, maximální škálovatelnost a jednoduchou správu polí RAID typu 0, 1, 1E, 5, 5EE, 6, 10, 50 a 60, to vše managovatelné pomocí Intelligent Power Management a ASM prostřednictvím sítě s podporou protokolů SNMP a SMTP. Tento řadič nabízí kompletní podporu SAS (Serial Attached SCSI). Dále pak standard Serial ATA 3 Gb/s, který rovněž zahrnuje technologie jako "Native Command Queuing". Ta umožňuje řazení příchozích příkazů tak, aby je disk mohl provádět co nejefektivněji (tedy s minimálním přesunem hlav apod.). NCQ se projeví především při náhodném přístupu k disku, který bude v budoucnu stále častější.
Podporovány jsou operační systémy Windows, FreeBSD, Red Hat Linux, SUSE Linux, SCO OpenServer, UnixWare, Sun Solaris, VMware ESX. Pomocí SAS expandéru lze připojit až 256 SATA nebo SAS zařízení.
Dodává se včetně kabelu Mini SAS x4 na (4x) SATA o délce 0,5 m.
